Every meeting we design is unique. There is nothing canned about what we do. But we do operate from a few key principles:

  1. We put client needs at the centre of every step of the design process. We are meticulous about ensuring that your meeting purpose, agenda, and activities are aligned.

  2. We draw from a variety of facilitation techniques, but largely: Gamestorming, visual thinking, sometimes even improv.

  3. Our end goal is to design memorable, meaningful, heck even fun meetings!

“Be the Cause” is Kintec’s internal company ethos, which means supporting employees in whatever higher goals they might have as an individual, for their customers, or the wider community.

The inspiring stories of how Kintec employees went above and beyond the call of duty needed to be shared, and what better time than a company-wide conference?

Drawing it Out designed a participatory process to surface these stories, share them with each other, and then visualize them in the form of a giant post-it mural.

Participants didn’t know what image they were forming, but when “Be the Cause” came into focus everyone broke out in applause. So cool.

Online platforms like Miro and Mural have really boosted the interactive potential of virtual meetings.

Many proven group processes such as Gamestorming can easily be transferred into the online environment.

We are all taught to succeed and avoid failure at all costs. But the truth is that even the most talented of us will fail at some point – it’s just a matter of when.

Drawing it Out teamed up with Avril Orloff to facilitate this participatory workshop on failure for over 100 visual practitioners at the annual IFVP 2020 conference.

The positive response was overwhelming. It seems we tapped into something big. The workshop brought up a lot of emotion, vulnerability and strong sense of community. We thought a group face palm shot was a perfect end to this workshop.

We daresay the failure workshop was a success!
